ZANE GREY: CODE OF THE WEST

Cinemavixion Review

Zane Grey's 'Code Of The West' plunges viewers into a classic tale of frontier justice, set against the backdrop of encroaching civilization. Director William Berke crafts a narrative where the railroad's arrival sparks a ruthless land grab, pitting determined ranchers against the avarice of Carter and his hired muscle. The story centers on Bob and Chito, who return at a crucial moment to thwart Carter's initial scheme against Banker Stockton. However, Carter's malice escalates, leading to the brutal burning of the ranchers' properties. The arrival of Saunders, a recognizable figure tied to Carter's machinations, propels Bob into decisive action. This film, featuring James Warren, Debra Alden, and John Laurenz, offers a compelling look at the conflicts and moral quandaries inherent in the expansion of the American West, exploring themes of greed, resilience, and the fight for one's land.
