YOU CAN'T FIGHT CHRISTMAS

Cinemavixion Review

Kenny Young's 'You Can't Fight Christmas' presents a charming, albeit predictable, holiday romance that leans heavily into the festive spirit. Starring Brely Evans as the effervescent Christmas designer Leslie Major, the film centers on her mission to win over the pragmatic Edmund James (Andra Fuller), the grandson of a hotel owner who sees Christmas as a frivolous expense. Evans brings a vibrant energy to Leslie, embodying the quintessential Christmas enthusiast, while Fuller offers a grounded counterpoint as the initially Scrooge-like Edmund. Their chemistry forms the heart of the narrative, as Leslie's infectious Yuletide cheer gradually thaws Edmund's business-minded exterior. Persia White adds a layer of intrigue as Edmund's business partner, Millicent, who poses a threat to the hotel's beloved Christmas traditions. While the plot adheres to familiar romantic comedy tropes, the film's genuine warmth and dedication to the holiday season make it an enjoyable watch for those seeking a dose of Christmas cheer. The film, released in 2017, offers a sweet escape, proving that sometimes, you just can't fight the magic of Christmas.
