WWII: FORGOTTEN HEROES

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary, "WWII: Forgotten Heroes," bravely delves into the often-overlooked contributions of Singaporean servicemen during World War II. The Fall of Singapore, a pivotal and devastating event, is contextualized not just as a military defeat but as a backdrop against which individual acts of extraordinary courage unfolded. The film promises to illuminate the journeys of four Singaporeans whose bravery spanned diverse and harrowing theaters of war, from the shores of Normandy to the skies of China and the grim confines of a Japanese POW camp. By featuring interviews with a "Flying Tigers" pilot and the families of veterans, alongside insights from historians, "WWII: Forgotten Heroes" seeks to rectify historical omissions and bring these vital, personal narratives to light, offering a poignant tribute to those whose sacrifices were nearly lost to time.
