WRECK: IN THE WOODS

Cinemavixion Review

Ben Patterson's "WRECK: IN THE WOODS" plunges viewers into a visceral survival narrative, skillfully blending elements of a tense thriller with primal horror. The film centers on a young woman whose solitary journey takes a terrifying turn after a car accident strands her in an isolated, unforgiving wilderness. As she grapples with her precarious physical situation, the immediate threat of ruthless pursuers wanting a mysterious package intensifies. However, an even more ancient and menacing presence stirs in the surrounding woods, adding a layer of supernatural dread to her plight. Patterson crafts a claustrophobic atmosphere, effectively amplifying the protagonist's isolation and vulnerability. The film’s strength lies in its escalating tension and the chilling suggestion that the true danger may not be human at all, but something far older and more predatory lurking just beyond the firelight.
