Cinemavixion Review

In the dusty annals of Western cinema, "Wranglers Roost" emerges as a curious tale of identity and redemption. Directed by S. Roy Luby and released in 1941, the film presents a compelling narrative centered around the legendary outlaw Black Bart. The plot thickens when Bart, long presumed dead, reappears to sow fear across the frontier. However, the legend takes a twist as a man named Deacon Stewart, portrayed by Forrest Taylor, steps forward claiming to be the reformed original Black Bart. Stewart enlists the help of Crash Corrigan (Ray Corrigan), Dusty King (John King), and Alibi Terhune (Max Terhune) – a trio whose names evoke the rugged spirit of the West – to expose a fraudulent imposter and clear his name. The film grapples with themes of reputation and the possibility of change, even for those who have lived outside the law. While perhaps not as grand as some of its contemporaries, "Wranglers Roost" offers a solid B-western experience, bolstered by its intriguing premise and a cast familiar to fans of the genre.
