WOUNDED HEALER

Cinemavixion Review

Shamanda Burston's 'Wounded Healer' offers a poignant exploration of the human psyche, delving into the complexities of mental illness and the arduous journey toward self-acceptance. The narrative centers on Manda, a therapist whose own struggles with inner demons become as central to the story as her professional dedication. The film masterfully navigates the delicate balance between Manda's professional empathy and her personal battles, showcasing a nuanced performance from the ensemble cast, including Michael Mau and Katelynn Bennett. While the external data points to a 90-minute runtime and a drama/family genre, the core of the film remains its introspective look at healing, emphasizing the critical importance of prioritizing one's own well-being. 'Wounded Healer' is a compelling character study that resonates with its honest portrayal of vulnerability and resilience.
