WORLD WAR ZERO - EPISODE 1

Cinemavixion Review

Denis Bespalyi's documentary series "WORLD WAR 0" embarks on an ambitious journey to reframe the Crimean War (1853-1856) not as a regional conflict, but as a pivotal, global struggle for dominance. The first episode, "World War Zero - Episode 1," sets the stage by presenting the war's vast geographical reach, extending from the Baltic to the Pacific, and the clashing interests of the Russian Empire against an alliance of British, French, Turkish, and Sardinian forces. The series probes the underlying causes, both overt and covert, that ignited this mid-19th-century confrontation, aiming to illuminate the Russian Empire's role on the world political stage. This is a challenging and insightful exploration that promises to offer a fresh perspective on a significant historical period.
