WITCH OF THE WOODS

Cinemavixion Review

This independent horror film delves into the unsettling atmosphere of isolation and the supernatural. The narrative follows Doug Richards, an insurance broker seeking solace and a new beginning as a landscape photographer in a secluded New England home. The film effectively builds suspense as Doug's idyllic retreat devolves into a waking nightmare, with unexplained occurrences suggesting a malevolent presence. The direction, by Douglas Rouillard & Darien F. Rodriguez, crafts a palpable sense of dread, immersing the viewer in Doug's growing paranoia. While the film may not boast a large budget, its strength lies in its commitment to atmosphere and psychological tension, exploring themes of personal transformation intertwined with an encroaching spiritual threat. It offers a compelling, if chilling, exploration of what lurks in the quiet corners of the world.
