WILLIAM MARSHALL: THE GREATEST MEDIEVAL KNIGHT THE WORLD FORGOT ABOUT

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the fascinating, and perhaps undeservedly obscure, life of William Marshall, a figure Dr. Tom Asbridge compellingly argues was the "greatest knight in the world." The narrative traces Marshall's remarkable ascent from a precarious childhood as a royal hostage to his influential position as regent of England. His career, spanning service under four kings, was defined by exceptional loyalty and battlefield prowess that not only preserved the English monarchy against French threats but also significantly contributed to the Magna Carta's development. The film serves as a powerful reminder of how a single individual's integrity and skill can leave an indelible mark on the grand tapestry of history, urging viewers to reconsider this overlooked titan of the medieval era.
