WILDLINGS

Cinemavixion Review

Martin Makariev's "Wildlings" presents a frantic, albeit somewhat uneven, cinematic chase that pits two impulsive young women against the relentless pursuit of Inspector Donev. The narrative kicks off with a daring escape, as Boryana and Mila find themselves on the run from the city with stolen money, a kidnapped man in tow, and the authorities hot on their heels. While the premise promises a high-octane thriller, the film occasionally meanders, exploring the characters' creative methods for evading capture. The dynamic between the two protagonists forms the core of the film, showcasing their resourcefulness and desperation. Though the IMDb rating suggests a mixed reception, "Wildlings" offers a compelling, if occasionally flawed, exploration of female agency and survival in dire circumstances, making it a noteworthy watch for those who appreciate a good cat-and-mouse game with a Bulgarian flair.
