WILDFIRE
Cinemavixion Review
Robert Emmett Tansey's 1945 Western, "Wildfire," delivers a straightforward, yet engaging, tale of frontier justice. Starring Bob Steele as the determined Happy, the film plunges viewers into a classic scenario of rustling and wrongful accusation. When Happy and his companion Alkali arrive, they quickly find themselves entangled with the nefarious Fanning and his men. The plot thickens when Alkali is shot, leading Happy to apprehend the outlaws, only to be betrayed by a corrupt judge. The subsequent escape and alliance with the discharged Sheriff set the stage for a compelling pursuit to uncover the true culprits. While perhaps not a groundbreaking entry in the genre, "Wildfire" offers a solid narrative structure and the dependable performances of Steele, Sterling Holloway, and John Miljan, making it a worthy watch for fans of traditional Westerns.
