WILD DAZE

Cinemavixion Review

Phyllis Stuart's "Wild Daze" is a compelling and urgent documentary that unflinchingly examines the intricate web connecting international crime cartels, child soldiers, corrupt officials, and the devastating illegal wildlife trade. Featuring insights from renowned conservationists like Dr. Jane Goodall, alongside perspectives from wildlife trophy hunters, the film crafts a nuanced portrayal of humanity's complex and often destructive relationship with the natural world. Filmed across nine countries, "Wild Daze" not only highlights the plight of Africa's vanishing wildlife but also sheds light on the exploited populations – women, children, and forest peoples – caught in the crossfire of systemic corruption. With a remarkable 8.3 rating on IMDb, this 2020 documentary serves as a vital call to action, revealing how the loss of African wildlife has profound implications for the entire planet and challenging our very desire to control nature versus our fundamental need to preserve it.
