WILD BOYS

Cinemavixion Review

Javier Elorrieta's 'Wild Boys' plunges viewers into the gritty underbelly of Madrid, a world where loyalty is as fleeting as ill-gotten gains. Released in 1994, this Spanish crime drama follows Tony and his crew through a series of increasingly reckless heists, charting their descent into a spiraling conflict with the law. Manuel Bandera leads a compelling cast, embodying Tony's struggle between a life of crime and the desperate attempts of his lover, Maika, to steer him towards redemption. The film masterfully captures the volatile atmosphere of Madrid's criminal landscape, where ambition often leads to ruin. With its taut pacing and exploration of dangerous alliances, 'Wild Boys' offers a visceral look at the consequences of a life lived on the edge, a cautionary tale that resonates with its raw portrayal of desperation and the fragile hope for a different future.
