WILD AMERICA: COTTONTAILS AND KIN

Cinemavixion Review

In "Wild America: Cottontails and Kin," Marty Stouffer delves into the often-overlooked reality of rabbit survival, moving beyond the charming portrayals found in children's folklore. While characters like Peter Cottontail and Br'er Rabbit capture the imagination with their whimsical tales, this documentary sheds light on the stark daily struggles faced by these creatures. Rabbits, with their soft fur and endearing features, are not just storybook figures but are constantly navigating a perilous world. The film highlights the significant threats they encounter, from a wide array of natural predators to the impact of human hunters. Despite these formidable dangers, Stouffer's work suggests a remarkable resilience and persistence within rabbit populations, illustrating that even amidst constant threats, the continuation of "Cottontails and Kin" is a testament to their enduring presence in the wild.
