WHY THIS PIECE OF METAL IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT OBJECTS IN THE WORLD

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the fascinating world of metrology, focusing on the 'kilogram,' a small metallic cylinder housed in a vault near Paris. The video explains how this seemingly unassuming object serves as the global standard for mass, influencing everything from our food and vehicles to our medicines. It highlights a surprising phenomenon: the kilogram's mass has mysteriously decreased over time by an amount equivalent to an eyelash, a subtle shift that has apparently triggered a significant crisis with far-reaching implications. The narrative promises to unravel the story behind this critical unit of measurement and the challenges it presents to science and industry.
