Cinemavixion Review

Michael Buerk embarks on a fascinating exploration of Joseph Bazalgette's monumental sewer system in "How The Victorians Built Britain." This documentary delves into the ingenious engineering that transformed Victorian London from a city choked by its own waste into a healthier, more modern metropolis. Buerk uncovers the surprising connections between high society's cesspits, the burgeoning pub culture, and the revolutionary public health measures that followed. It's a compelling look at how a visionary approach to infrastructure not only cleaned up the capital but also sparked a freshwater revolution, significantly improving the lives of millions and leaving a legacy that continues to serve us today.
