WHITE GHOST

Cinemavixion Review

BJ Davis's 'White Ghost' plunges viewers into the dense, unforgiving jungles of communist Vietnam, offering a tense narrative centered on a M.I.A. soldier living in hiding. The film, released in 1988, stars William Katt as the titular 'White Ghost,' whose survival is jeopardized when the U.S. Army dispatches a black ops team for his extraction. However, the mission takes a dark turn as the team is led by an operative with a personal vendetta. Katt delivers a compelling performance, navigating the soldier's isolation and the perilous circumstances. The supporting cast, including Rosalind Chao and Martin Hewitt, effectively embodies the tension and moral ambiguity of the situation. While the plot explores themes of survival and betrayal, the film's gritty atmosphere and action sequences provide a compelling, albeit grim, cinematic experience that warrants a closer look for fans of 80s war thrillers.
