WHITE FANG

Cinemavixion Review

Lucio Fulci's "White Fang" (1973) transports audiences to the rugged Yukon of 1896, weaving a compelling narrative around a remarkable wolf-dog. The film masterfully depicts the bond between White Fang and a reporter, as they confront a nefarious crime lord dominating a gold mining town. Franco Nero and Virna Lisi deliver strong performances, anchoring the story amidst the harsh, untamed landscape. Fulci's direction captures both the brutal realities of the era and the inherent nobility of the animal protagonist. While perhaps less known than other adaptations, this version stands as a solid adventure, rich with themes of loyalty, corruption, and the wild. It's a journey into a historical setting that remains engaging, offering a satisfying blend of action and character development, enhanced by the evocative cinematography that brings the Yukon to life.
