WHERE’S ROSE

Cinemavixion Review

John Mathis's "WHERE’S ROSE" crafts a deeply unsettling supernatural thriller that preys on the primal fear of the uncanny within the familiar. The film centers on a family's relief at the return of their young daughter, Rose, only to have it slowly curdle into dread. As Rose's behavior grows disturbingly aberrant, her older brother becomes the sole witness to a terrifying transformation. The narrative masterfully builds suspense, questioning the very nature of identity and the darkness that can lurk beneath a veneer of innocence. Performances, particularly from the young cast, anchor the escalating horror, making the descent into the supernatural feel disturbingly plausible. This is a film that lingers, exploring the chilling concept of a beloved presence replaced by something alien and sinister.
