WHERE THE SKIN LIES

Cinemavixion Review

"Where the Skin Lies" plunges viewers into a chilling reunion that unravels with unnerving precision. The film masterfully explores the fragile bonds of individuals united by past trauma, as a group therapy retreat in the Scottish Lowlands devolves into a nightmarish descent into paranoia and distrust. Director Michael Boucherie crafts a tense atmosphere, where the isolated setting amplifies the psychological unravelling of the characters. As mysterious and horrifying events unfold, the narrative deftly exposes the superficiality of their relationships, revealing that beneath the surface of camaraderie lies a profound and dangerous lack of faith in one another. This is a taut thriller that questions the very nature of trust, leaving audiences to ponder the thin veneer separating connection from isolation.
