WHEN WE LAST SPOKE

Cinemavixion Review

In "When We Last Spoke," director Joanne Hock crafts a poignant narrative set against the backdrop of 1967, where two sisters find themselves under the care of their grandparents in the charming town of Fireside. The film masterfully intertwines humor, heartbreak, and eventual triumph, offering a deeply resonant exploration of family bonds, enduring friendships, and the power of forgiveness. Anchored by a commendable cast including Cloris Leachman, Corbin Bernsen, and Melissa Gilbert, this heartwarming tale serves up its emotional core with a generous dollop of local flavor, much like the "whipped cream and lots of local nuts" mentioned in its description. While specific box office figures and critical reception details are not readily available, the film's IMDb rating of 7.0 suggests a solid audience appreciation for its heartfelt storytelling. "When We Last Spoke" is a touching reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the comforting embrace of chosen family.
