WHEN THE BELL TOLLS

Cinemavixion Review

Luigi Batzella's "When the Bell Tolls" plunges viewers into the harrowing realities of World War II with a focus on Greek partisans battling German forces. Released in 1970, this war drama, starring the likes of Brad Harris, Brigitte Skay, and Gino Turini, offers a stark portrayal of conflict. The narrative follows Tego, a partisan who experiences the brutal atrocities of the Nazis, leading to the loss of his family and his own eventual demise. While the film's IMDb rating suggests a niche appeal, its commitment to depicting the grim struggle for freedom during a tumultuous period makes it a noteworthy entry in the war genre for those interested in the lesser-known theaters of conflict.
