WHAT WAS LIFE LIKE FOR VICTORIAN "SUPER PIT" MINERS?

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a fascinating glimpse into the challenging lives of miners at Kalgoorlie's "Super Pit." Through a series of vignettes, it explores the harsh realities of their work, the social fabric of the mining town, and the unique culture that developed around this demanding profession. From the introduction to the Super Pit as it stands today, to delving into the history of the miners' pubs, the referendum, and even the presence of brothels, the film paints a comprehensive picture. The inclusion of Herbert Hoover's connection to the area and the lore surrounding a sacred gold nugget add intriguing historical layers. While lacking specific cast or director information, the narrative structure, guided by the chapter markers, promises a thorough exploration of this significant part of Australian industrial history.
