WHAT STILL REMAINS

Cinemavixion Review

In a post-apocalyptic landscape ravaged by disease, 'What Still Remains' presents a poignant exploration of survival and the enduring human need for connection. Lulu Antariksa delivers a compelling performance as a young woman grappling with profound loss, her resilience tested by the harsh realities of a desolate world. The arrival of a solitary traveler, portrayed with subtle intensity, introduces a complex moral dilemma: can trust be rebuilt in the ashes of civilization? Director Josh Mendoza masterfully crafts an atmosphere of haunting isolation, punctuated by moments of fragile hope. While the film delves into the bleakness of its setting, it ultimately champions the power of human relationships and the courage it takes to embrace a future, even when the past offers little solace. This independent drama, noted for its strong critical reception, offers a thought-provoking narrative that lingers long after the credits roll.
