WHAT MADE ALEXANDRIA AN ANCIENT CITY OF WONDERS?

Cinemavixion Review

Alexandria, a city conceived by the ambitious Alexander the Great, emerges in this documentary as a testament to ancient urban planning and ambition. Its design as a sprawling, modern megapolis, complete with a revolutionary grid layout, positioned it as a pivotal nexus between the Mediterranean Sea and the Nile River. This strategic advantage, coupled with impressive engineering marvels such as formidable defensive walls and the iconic lighthouse, transformed Alexandria into a vibrant center for global commerce and cultural exchange. The film skillfully illustrates how these monumental achievements not only defined the city's physical landscape but also fostered an unprecedented cosmopolitan atmosphere, leaving an indelible mark on history.
