WHAT CHILDREN DO

Cinemavixion Review

Dean Peterson's "What Children Do" offers a poignant yet humorous exploration of familial bonds under duress. The film centers on two estranged sisters whose already strained relationship is tested when they are reunited by the impending death of their grandmother. While the premise might suggest a heavy drama, the narrative skillfully weaves in comedic elements, providing levity without undermining the emotional core of the story. The performances, particularly from Nicole Rodenburg and Grace Rex, are lauded for their authenticity, capturing the complex dynamics of sisterhood and grief. Despite a modest reception, "What Children Do" has garnered attention for its heartfelt portrayal of reconciliation and the often-uncomfortable, yet ultimately unifying, experience of family.
