WESTERN CYCLONE

Cinemavixion Review

Sam Newfield's 1943 Western, "Western Cyclone," offers a serviceable slice of frontier justice, anchored by the reliable presence of Buster Crabbe as the protagonist navigating a treacherous political landscape. The narrative, which sees Crabbe's character, Billy, framed for murder by the ambitious Randall in a bid to seize state control, unfolds with a familiar yet engaging rhythm. The plot cleverly introduces a clue – a peculiar mark on a shell casing – that Billy and his companion Fuzzy (Al St. John) must follow to uncover the truth. While not a groundbreaking entry in the genre, "Western Cyclone" benefits from its straightforward storytelling and the established chemistry between Crabbe and St. John, making it a solid choice for fans of classic Westerns seeking an uncomplicated, action-driven B-movie experience.
