WEST NO MORE

Cinemavixion Review

Riley Hanlon's "West No More" offers a compelling look into the dedication and challenges faced by living historians Ben Jenkins and Aaron Klass. The documentary chronicles their ambitious attempt to traverse the 500-mile Colorado Trail, striving to authentically experience life in the 1860s. While their initial hundred miles are marked by excitement, the journey soon tests their resolve. Exhaustion, malnourishment, and interpersonal friction emerge as they push further into the wilderness. Despite ultimately pulling off the trail after 200 miles, the experience fuels a deeper mission. Three years later, Jenkins and Klass return, not just to complete the hike, but to underscore their commitment to living history firsthand. The film, with a respectable 6.4 IMDb rating, delves into the physical and mental fortitude required for such an endeavor, making it an engaging watch for history buffs and adventure enthusiasts alike.
