WE ARE BOATS

Cinemavixion Review

James Bird's 'We Are Boats' presents a poignant tapestry of interconnected lives, orchestrated by the ethereal presence of Francesca. This 2018 fantasy drama, featuring a compelling performance from Angela Sarafyan, explores the delicate balance between fate and free will. As Francesca navigates the mortal realm, her encounters with strangers serve as pivotal moments, nudging them towards either profound happiness or inevitable tragedy. The film masterfully weaves these individual narratives, all while a deeper, personal quest for closure drives Francesca's journey. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 50%, 'We Are Boats' invites contemplation on the unseen threads that bind us, offering a thoughtful, albeit melancholic, exploration of life's transient connections and the enduring search for peace.
