This documentary delves into the intriguing life of Duško Popov, a Croatian agent whose exploits during World War II have led many to speculate he was the real-life inspiration behind Ian Fleming's iconic James Bond. The narrative skillfully weaves together Popov's daring missions, highlighting his pivotal role in crucial wartime operations, including his alleged involvement in making D-Day a success and his near-intervention in the events leading to the Pearl Harbor attack. The film questions whether this charismatic figure, with his penchant for high-stakes espionage and glamorous lifestyle, truly embodied the spirit of the fictional spy.
