WAS QUEEN ELIZABETH I TRICKED INTO KILLING MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS? | TALES FROM THE TOWER

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the chilling history of the Tower of London, a place synonymous with grim fates. Focusing on the execution methods employed over its millennium-long existence, it highlights the particularly barbaric practice of live disembowelment, a method so gruesome it was eventually banned by Queen Elizabeth I. The narrative pivots to the Babington Plot of 1586, revealing it as a pivotal moment where this horrific practice was last employed. The episode credits Francis Walsingham, the 'Spymaster' and architect of modern espionage, for uncovering the conspiracy. It's a compelling look at the intersection of political intrigue, espionage, and the brutal realities of justice in Tudor England.
