WAR OF THE WORLDS 2: THE NEXT WAVE

Cinemavixion Review

C. Thomas Howell's "War of the Worlds 2: The Next Wave" plunges viewers back into a post-invasion Earth, where humanity faces a renewed existential threat. Released in 2008, this sequel picks up the narrative with the aliens launching a devastating second wave of attacks, aiming to complete their conquest. Howell, who also stars in the film alongside Christopher "Kid" Reid and Kim Little, directs a story that promises high stakes and a desperate struggle for survival. While the film leans into its science-fiction premise, it grapples with the daunting task of following up on a global catastrophe, exploring the resilience and perhaps the futility of human resistance against overwhelming alien forces. It's a direct-to-video effort that aims to deliver on the spectacle of alien invasion, offering a continuation of the struggle for Earth's future.
