WALT BEFORE MICKEY

Cinemavixion Review

Khoa Le's "Walt Before Mickey" offers a glimpse into the formative years of the legendary animator, tracing Walt Disney's journey before the iconic mouse took shape. Starring Thomas Ian Nicholas as the ambitious young Walt, alongside Jon Heder and Armando Gutierrez, the film delves into the struggles and triumphs that paved the way for a global entertainment empire. While the narrative may not possess the grandeur of Disney's later creations, it serves as a poignant reminder of the relentless drive and creative vision that defined its namesake. The film, based on the book of the same name, captures the essence of early 20th-century ambition and the nascent dreams that would eventually change the landscape of animation and filmmaking forever.
