VOYAGE OF THE YES

Cinemavixion Review

Lee H. Katzin's "Voyage of the Yes" from 1973 is a compelling cinematic exploration of youth, adventure, and self-discovery. The film chronicles the ambitious 2000-mile sailboat journey undertaken by two teenagers from California to Hawaii. More than just a tale of maritime challenges, the narrative delves into the protagonists' internal struggles as they confront not only the vastness of the Pacific but also their own personal shortcomings. Anchored by strong performances from Desi Arnaz Jr. and Mike Evans, the film offers a poignant look at resilience and the often-turbulent passage from adolescence to maturity. Despite its modest runtime, "Voyage of the Yes" delivers a resonant story that continues to engage audiences with its themes of courage and personal growth.
