VOYAGE OF THE ROCK ALIENS

Cinemavixion Review

James Fargo's "Voyage of the Rock Aliens" is a vibrant, albeit quirky, 1984 musical comedy that plunges viewers into the fictional town of Speelburgh, where extraterrestrial visitors arrive with a singular mission: to discover the origins of rock and roll. The plot unfolds as these interstellar travelers find themselves entangled with a group of local teenagers, notably Dee Dee, played by Pia Zadora, and Frankie, along with his band The Pack. The film's narrative takes a turn when the alien leader develops an interest in Dee Dee, setting the stage for a series of humorous and musical encounters. While the film may not have garnered major awards, it offers a unique blend of sci-fi, musical numbers, and teen-centric drama, making it a curious artifact of 80s cinema.
