VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE: BORN UNDER HITLER'S REGIME

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the complex and often unsettling origins of the Volkswagen Beetle, tracing its conception from the ambitious industrial vision of Adolf Hitler's regime. Beyond its iconic design, the film explores the 'people's car' concept, intended to mobilize the German populace much like Ford's Model T did for America. It raises critical questions about the intersection of automotive innovation and political ideology, offering a stark reminder of how technological advancements can be co-opted for nationalistic agendas. The narrative navigates the transformation of a nation through the lens of its automotive aspirations, presenting a compelling, albeit somber, historical account.
