VILSEN

Cinemavixion Review

Rasmus Tirzitis's 2016 Swedish thriller, 'Vilsen,' plunges viewers into the chilling atmosphere of Gothenburg as a series of brutal murders grip the city. The narrative follows Detective Goran Lidman, portrayed by Göran Sjögren, as he grapples with an increasingly dark and perplexing case. The investigation takes a supernatural turn with the introduction of an occult group as prime suspects, forcing Lidman to confront elements beyond his rational understanding. Alexandra Zetterberg joins the ensemble as Gabriella, a former reverend whose own troubled past intertwines with the unfolding mystery. Together, Lidman and Gabriella must navigate a world where logic and reason falter, racing against time to prevent further bloodshed. The film explores themes of confronting the unknown and accepting what lies beyond conventional comprehension. Despite a modest IMDb rating of 4.1, 'Vilsen' offers a compelling blend of crime procedural and supernatural horror, bolstered by its nine awards, promising a tense and thought-provoking cinematic experience for those drawn to darker mysteries.
