VIKING WOMEN: THE FORGOTTEN FOUNDERS OF THE VIKING AGE

Cinemavixion Review

This two-part documentary, 'Viking Women: The Forgotten Founders Of The Viking Age,' seeks to rectify the historical oversight of women's significant roles in Viking society. Through expert interviews and high-quality recreations, the film aims to present an authentic picture of the Viking world, highlighting how women were not merely passive figures but active participants who commanded ships and established colonies. The series focuses on the life stories of two fictionalized characters, Sigrun and Jova, drawing inspiration from Nordic sagas to illuminate a fascinating and often underestimated era. It promises new insights into a culture where women's contributions have been largely erased from collective memory.
