VICIOUS

Cinemavixion Review

Dennis Bots's 'Vicious' plunges viewers into a chilling psychological thriller, set against the stark, isolating beauty of the Ardennes. The narrative centers on four young women whose supposed idyllic getaway devolves into a desperate struggle for survival and truth. As secrets unravel and trust erodes, the film masterfully explores the precarious nature of friendship under duress. The performances are compelling, capturing the escalating fear and suspicion among the protagonists. While the external data points to a runtime of 97 minutes and a plot inspired by Mel Wallis de Vries's acclaimed novel, the core of the film remains a tense exploration of hidden motives and the terrifying realization that the greatest danger might lie within one's own circle. 'Vicious' is a taut, atmospheric piece that questions how well we truly know those closest to us.
