UNFOLLOWER

Cinemavixion Review

In "Unfollower," director Johnathan Aguero (co-directing with Julie Crisante, according to external data) crafts a taut thriller that plays on contemporary anxieties surrounding online privacy and personal safety. The film centers on Jo, a fitness instructor grappling with self-doubt, whose life takes a terrifying turn when she becomes the target of a relentless cyber-stalker. The narrative effectively blurs the lines between the digital and physical realms, as the online harassment escalates into a dangerous real-world pursuit. Jo's journey from victim to survivor is compelling, showcasing her resilience and burgeoning instinct for self-preservation. While the film may not boast extensive accolades, it delivers a suspenseful experience, bolstered by performances from Dan Davidson and Marty Lindsey, who contribute to the unsettling atmosphere. "Unfollower" serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability inherent in our hyper-connected world, urging viewers to consider the real-world consequences of online actions.
