UNDER CONTROLL

Cinemavixion Review

Eric Dean Hordes' 2019 German fantasy-horror film, 'Under ConTroll,' plunges viewers into a tale of ancient vengeance. The narrative centers on an evil troll, imprisoned in stone since the 15th century, who is resurrected in contemporary times. The plot thickens as the troll, after centuries of suffering, seeks retribution and manipulates his way into the body of Vanessa Majer. His sinister objective involves enslaving Vanessa and pursuing her daughter's virgin boyfriend, Charlie, whose blood is needed to open a portal to a magical prison. The film, which features Eva Habermann in a notable role, navigates a blend of dark fantasy and horror elements, exploring themes of resurrection, revenge, and supernatural manipulation. While the IMDb rating suggests a challenging reception, the premise offers a unique, albeit potentially campy, cinematic experience for fans of creature features and dark fairy tales.
