TWO MALES FOR ALEXA

Cinemavixion Review

Juan Logar's 1971 thriller, "Two Males for Alexa," plunges viewers into a labyrinth of illicit desire and vengeful retribution. The narrative masterfully constructs a suffocating atmosphere as a young woman's extramarital affair unravels the life she thought she had. When her older husband, a figure of grim consequence, orchestrates his own demise to ensnare her and her lover, the isolated mansion becomes a gilded cage. The performances, particularly from Rosalba Neri as the trapped protagonist and Curd Jürgens as the calculating husband, are compelling, navigating the complex emotional terrain of betrayal and desperation. While the film may not boast widespread accolades, its taut pacing and morally ambiguous storyline offer a potent, unsettling cinematic experience for those seeking a dark exploration of passion's destructive consequences.
