TURNING DEATH INTO DOLLARS: SECRETS OF THE FAMILY FUNERAL BUSINESS

Cinemavixion Review

In a society often hesitant to confront mortality, "Turning Death Into Dollars: Secrets of the Family Funeral Business" offers a rare and insightful glimpse into the world of funeral care. This observational documentary centers on Walter Carter Funerals, an institution with deep roots in Bondi Junction since the 1870s. Through the fresh perspectives of its youngest employees, funeral director Jasmine Cameron and mortuary manager Amber Coote, the film navigates the delicate balance of professionalism and compassion required in this often-misunderstood industry. It bravely tackles one of society's last great taboos, presenting a surprisingly humanizing look at the final rites and the dedicated individuals who guide families through profound loss. The documentary serves as a compelling, respectful exploration of death's business and its human element.
