TULSA: THE WILD WEST MEETS MODERN GREED

Cinemavixion Review

This 1949 drama, "Tulsa: The Wild West Meets Modern Greed," plunges viewers into a gripping tale of familial vengeance set against the backdrop of burgeoning oil fortunes. Directed by Stuart Heisler, the film stars Susan Hayward as a rancher's daughter who, fueled by the loss of her father in a bitter dispute with a powerful oil conglomerate, embarks on her own quest to strike oil. The narrative cleverly juxtaposes the rugged individualism of the Old West with the cutthroat ambition of modern industrial greed. Hayward delivers a compelling performance as a woman transformed by tragedy into a determined force, navigating the treacherous landscape of oil speculation and personal vendetta. Robert Preston and Pedro Armendáriz provide strong support, adding depth to this compelling saga of ambition, loss, and the unyielding pursuit of justice in a land where fortunes are forged and broken by the very earth itself.
