TRY THIS ONE FOR SIZE

Cinemavixion Review

Guy Hamilton's 1989 crime thriller, "Try This One for Size," offers a stylish, albeit somewhat convoluted, adventure centered on insurance investigator Lepski. Tasked with safeguarding a valuable statuette in Nice, Lepski finds himself embroiled in a cat-and-mouse game with a determined gang of thieves when the artifact is inevitably stolen. The film, featuring Michael Brandon in the lead role, supported by David Carradine and Arielle Dombasle, takes viewers on a globe-trotting pursuit that culminates in the picturesque Swiss Alps. While the plot may lean towards the improbable, the film delivers a serviceable dose of suspense and exotic locales, making it an interesting, if somewhat overlooked, entry in the genre. The IMDb rating of 5.3 suggests a mixed reception, but for those seeking a classic crime caper with international flair, "Try This One for Size" might just hit the mark.
