TREASURE LIES

Cinemavixion Review

Brett Varvel's "Treasure Lies" delves into the moral complexities faced by Sean, a seemingly "boy next door" teenager whose life takes a sharp turn due to a series of poor choices. The narrative explores themes of aspiration and character crisis, particularly as Sean grapples with his desire for a better life, symbolized by his attraction to Melissa and his yearning for a luxury car. The discovery of a winning lottery ticket serves as a pivotal plot device, forcing Sean to confront his values and the consequences of his actions. While the film's plot summary suggests a focus on personal growth and decision-making, external data indicates it garnered "5 wins & 9 nominations," hinting at critical recognition for its storytelling or performances. Despite a modest 5.0 rating on IMDb, "Treasure Lies" appears to offer a character-driven drama that probes the challenges of youthful ambition and the ethical dilemmas that arise when opportunities intersect with temptation.
