TOXIC INVADERS: THE LETHAL LEGACY OF LIONFISH | BLUE REALM

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the ecological crisis posed by the invasive lionfish. Originally native to the Pacific's vibrant coral reefs, these fish have become a significant threat to marine biodiversity in the Caribbean and Atlantic. Their proliferation is attributed to a small number of aquarium specimens that escaped into the wild. The documentary highlights the striking beauty of the lionfish, characterized by their flowing fins that evoke a lion's mane, juxtaposed with the danger of their venomous spines. It serves as a compelling case study on the unintended consequences of species introduction and the ongoing efforts to manage this ecological challenge.
