TOKOLOSHE THE CALLING

Cinemavixion Review

TOKOLOSHE THE CALLING plunges viewers into a chilling narrative where the isolation of a remote, abandoned hotel becomes a breeding ground for psychological dread. The story adeptly weaves together the anxieties of a writer struggling with creative pressure and the unsettling intrusion of the supernatural. As the protagonist attempts to complete his latest work, his family and he are drawn into a vortex of strange occurrences, hinting at a presence that feeds on their deepest fears. Simultaneously, a parallel storyline explores the harrowing past of a teacher, whose connection to the very same hotel promises a convergence of dark secrets. This dual narrative structure builds suspense effectively, suggesting that the hotel itself is a character, holding onto its grim history and manifesting it in terrifying ways. The film explores themes of legacy, trauma, and the thin veil between reality and the spectral.
