TO SAVE THE CHILDREN

Cinemavixion Review

Steven Hilliard Stern's "To Save the Children" offers a compelling narrative of a teacher seeking tranquility in rural Wyoming, only to find his ideals tested by a former officer's descent into violence. Richard Thomas anchors the film as Jake Downey, a man whose hope for a peaceful existence is shattered when his classroom becomes the stage for a tense hostage situation. The film masterfully builds suspense, exploring themes of heroism and the unexpected challenges that can arise even in the most idyllic settings. While the external data suggests a modest IMDb rating, the core story, driven by strong performances from Thomas, Wendy Crewson, and Jessica Steen, promises a gripping viewing experience that delves into the resilience of the human spirit under extreme pressure. It's a testament to Stern's direction that a story of such potential volatility unfolds with narrative coherence and emotional depth.
