TO DREAM

Cinemavixion Review

Nicole Albarelli's "To Dream" is a poignant and raw exploration of adolescent friendship set against the grim realities of inner-city London. The film masterfully captures the potent bond between two teenagers, Luke and Tommy, whose shared dream of escaping their harsh environments serves as a beacon of hope. Ed Hayter delivers a compelling performance as Luke, grappling with the trauma of a dysfunctional home life, while Frank Jakeman provides a solid counterpoint as Tommy, whose loyalty becomes both his strength and his potential downfall. The narrative skillfully navigates themes of escapism, the complexities of loyalty, and the desperate measures one might take to protect a cherished dream. Despite its gritty backdrop, the film is imbued with an undeniable sense of intimacy and hope, making it a thought-provoking watch that lingers long after the credits roll. The concise runtime ensures a focused and impactful storytelling experience.
